Overview

Christina works with airports nationwide, local municipalities, Massachusetts state agencies, and private companies in managing their risks and crafting creative solutions to a wide array of issues.  Her focus is litigation.  Since joining Anderson & Kreiger, Christina has been involved in a number of precedent-setting lawsuits on behalf of the firm’s clients.  She is often involved in disputes well in advance of litigation, providing strategic advice about the potential political and business ramifications of any lawsuit and building the best record possible for court.

In addition to litigation, Christina regularly advises airports and other public sector clients on governance, compliance, and environmental matters.  She has successfully represented:

  • Airport sponsors in federal regulatory compliance disputes, civil litigation, airline use and lease agreements, and in their often complicated relationships with other state and local entities.
  • Public and private sector clients in environmental matters, with a focus on environmental compliance and permitting appeals.
  • State agencies and municipalities on a range of local issues, including compliance with the State Ethics Act, the Open Meeting Law, and the Public Records Act; environmental compliance and remediation; and governance matters.
  • Municipalities, state agencies, and private entities in drafting state and local legislation to meet their needs.

Christina’s understanding of her clients’ commercial priorities and regulatory obligations helps her to craft efficient resolution strategies that also effectively resonate in court, with regulators, and with other authorities.

BEYOND THE OFFICE

Christina lives in Winchester with her husband and three children. She enjoys live music of any kind, baking (but not cooking), and running for reasonably short distances. Christina has participated in and raised money for the Pan-Mass Challenge as part of her family and the firm’s ongoing support for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Experience

  • Represented the Massachusetts Port Authority in obtaining a preliminary injunction against a “peer to peer” car rental company operating illegally at Logan Airport, and in convincing the Supreme Judicial Court to uphold the injunction in a precedent-setting decision on the Communications Decency Act in Massachusetts.
  • Won dismissal of a class action lawsuit against the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority regarding disruptions in commuter rail service during the winter of 2015.
  • Successfully prosecuted a wetlands enforcement case on behalf of a local conservation commission, prevailing at summary judgment.
  • Represented the town of Barnstable, Massachusetts, in a lawsuit involving the contamination of its drinking water with PFAS and obtained a favorable cost recovery settlement for the town.
  • Successfully defended the Martha’s Vineyard Airport Commission against a preliminary injunction involving a bid protest for the lease of its property for a gas station.
  • Successfully defended a telecommunications client against a preliminary injunction involving a cell phone tower in Massachusetts.
  • Assisted many local municipalities in navigating the impact of Covid-19 on operations, and assisted in drafting language for state legislation permitting remote Town Meetings during the state of emergency.
  • Successfully defended many local zoning decisions at the Massachusetts Land Court, Superior Court, and Appeals Court.
  • Represented a number of large- and medium-hub airports in negotiating and drafting airport-airline use and lease agreements.
  • Successfully defended several airport clients, including a large-hub and a number of small-hub airports, in Part 13 proceedings before the FAA.
  • Advised municipal clients on ethics, environmental, and constitutional questions involving issues including assault weapon bans and election recounts.
