Overview

State agencies, nonprofits, private and public corporations, and individuals turn to Annie for their litigation needs, ranging from enforcement of public rules and regulations to land use disputes. She also counsels municipalities on a broad range of issues, including public policy and compliance with state and federal laws, and helps conduct internal investigations.

Annie’s areas of focus include:

  • Public Law: Annie helped a Massachusetts municipality review and reform its municipal bylaws and policies for racial bias. She was also part of a team that successfully defended a Massachusetts state agency in a lawsuit alleging improper retaliation.
  • Litigation: Annie was part of a team that sued the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for promulgating a final rule rolling back standards for disparate impact liability under the Fair Housing Act and successfully obtained a national preliminary injunction preventing the new rule from taking effect.
  • Internal Investigations: Annie has worked on several internal investigations that involved allegations of racial discrimination, sexual misconduct, and/or retaliation.

While in law school at Boston College, Annie was a member of the Order of the Coif and co-chair of the Law Students Association Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She was also an intern at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and a Rappaport Fellow with the Youth Advocacy Division of the Committee for Public Counsel Services.

BEYOND THE OFFICE

Annie is an avid cook and somewhat questionable baker. In her spare time, she can be found attempting to re-create some of her favorite Boston restaurant dishes and perusing her growing collection of cookbooks. When not cooking, Annie enjoys reading, playing board games, and watching movies.
