Overview

Companies of all sizes, as well as insurance companies themselves, turn to Jane to analyze issues related to insurance coverage and to help them resolve complex insurance coverage disputes. She focuses her work in four main areas:

  • Coverage Analysis: Jane advises insurers about insurance coverage and claims handling issues and inter-insurer disputes.
  • Preparation of Coverage Letters to Insureds: Jane prepares coverage letters for insurers to inform their insureds of the grounds on which there may be no coverage or limited coverage for a claim or suit.
  • Demands for Coverage on Behalf of Insureds: Janes has assisted many companies in overcoming coverage denials under commercial general liability and director’s and officer’s (D&O) policies and securing from insurers a defense of claims and suits and substantial contributions to settlement.
  • Insurance Coverage Litigation: Jane represents insurers and insureds in complex insurance coverage and bad faith cases. Her areas of focus include professional malpractice, commercial liability, and D&O insurance. She recently was part of the litigation team that successfully represented Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare in a denial of benefits case in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
