Overview

Martell is an associate representing public and private clients in various litigation, transactional, advisory, and investigatory roles. Martell’s practice focuses primarily on the following:

  • Litigation: From disputes covering commercial and residential real estate, enforcement of federal and state regulations for public and airport clients, zoning and land use disputes, to public law matters, Martell zealously advocates on behalf of his clients.
  • Transactions: Martell regularly drafts, reviews, and negotiates agreements on behalf of public and private clients. His analysis and drafting always seeks to strike a balance of allowing a deal or agreement to move forward without delay, while also ensuring risk to his clients are minimized.
  • Public Law: Martell works on behalf of several Town clients and regularly advises them on a plethora of complex legal questions ranging from issues of constitutional and statutory interpretation, aspects of the role of federalism and the way federal, state, and local laws interact, code enforcement, drafting and adopting legislation, contracts, litigation, and other important matters.
  • Internal Investigations: Martell regularly conducts internal investigations, investigates allegations of wrongdoing, and reviews internal policies for public and private clients dealing with allegations of race-based discrimination, allegations of sexual harassment and assault, and patterns and practices. Martell has conducted investigations and reviews on behalf of Fortune 500 clients, universities, independent schools, police departments, and other private clients.
