Our Results
A few examples of Anderson & Kreiger’s recent precedent-setting results include:
- Successfully defending the Massachusetts Gaming Commission against challenges by several municipalities, citizens, and disappointed applicant, Mohegan Sun, to the Commission’s award of a casino license to Wynn Resorts, under Massachusetts’ new Expanded Gaming Act.
- Defending a town’s right to use Community Preservation Act funds to preserve two historic churches, including prevailing at the trial court level and arguing at the Supreme Judicial Court, resulting in the creation of new law on the Anti-Aid Amendment.
- Obtaining and successfully defending in the Supreme Judicial Court a preliminary injunction against the “peer to peer” rental car company Turo, Inc., from operating without authorization at Logan Airport.
- Successfully defended the MBTA in a consumer class action regarding disruptions in commuter rail service during the historically bad winter of 2015.
